Only a short while after Abby Cubey blasted onto the UK music scene via Aurovine comes the news that she has been nominated for no less than 3 prestigious categories at this year’s LA Music Awards.

Abby’s track Man Up was written for her friend and boxer Manny Pacquiao. You may remember Manny as the conqueror of Ricky Hatton in the Light Welterweight Championship Of The World at a sell out MGM Grand Las Vegas back in 2009. Pacquiao’s fans have adopted the song and can be heard shouting the Man Up lyrics at Pacquiao’s opponents!

Abby is no stranger to the media spotlight and as well as being a multilingual singer/songwriter she is also a producer, musician, model, radio host, designer and a race car driver! Abby’s real break came when she moved to LA teaming up with JOJOKID MUSIC’s East Coast Hit Writer/Producer/Arranger Paul Drago. She co-wrote and released a CD “Believe in ME”, with the Spanglish club hit “Dame Mas Electricidad” which premiered at her CD Release party/performance at the House of Blues on Sunset Boulevard. Paul Drago has been in his own bands for United Artists, and Columbia Records, was music director for The Drifters, and worked with Gloria Gaynor.

The “Feel My Fire” Nascar song (above) has been covered globally in thousands of articles and featured on “The Car Show” and “Tick Tock” the theme song for her radio show “After Dark Radio” and the Internet/TV Entertainment Magazine “LA After Dark TV”, both with Abby Cubey as host. The video remix featured above has been reworked as an LA Music Awards version.

Although Abby is currently experiencing major exposure and success she is quick to point out that it has been far from easy and has found that just being herself has helped. “Being so young when I first started, I never really had a sense of who I wanted to be. Now things are really working out because everything that I’m singing, writing and composing is really me. I write songs that I strongly believe in and that are coming from inside.”

We’ve had lots of positive feedback about Abby when we’ve played her tracks on the Podcast show and it would be fantastic for both Abby and Aurovine if she were to take any of the LA Music Awards. You can help her to win by casting your vote at the Awards Website here.
