BBC 6 Music have been running an initiative for unsigned and independent artists for a few years now. Championed by Tom Robinson and with 97,000 artists already registered in the UK, the programme allows you to use the BBC uploader to submit tracks for review.
As well as the BBC main channels the tracks are also spread across 30 regional sites, so if you are any good, there’s a pretty fair chance you will be played or even invited in for a session!
Furthermore, the BBC have now secured ‘Introducing’ slots at many of the major festivals including Glastonbury, T In The Park and The Reading/Leeds festivals. The scheme has many success stories including Jake Bugg, Bombay Bicycle Club, The Temper Trap, Two Door Cinema Club, Florence And The Machine and The Joy Formidable. You can read more about the programme on the BBC Introducing Site.
